Incorporate punches for your handmade card ideas. I used several punches for my homemade valentine ideas. For this card, I used Martha Stewart's Cherish, Punch Around the Page craft punch on cream paper to create the decorative shape that holds the image. I also used a scallop border punch along the bottom of the card. The card is embellished with adhesive gems and ribbon.

This anniversary card was also created using punches. I used a 1/2" corner punch on layers of paper and then used foam tape behind the sentiment section to give the card dimension. The sentiment is printed on vellum paper but you can use a stamp or stickers. The card is embellished with adhesive gems and a sheer ribbon.

Make a birthday card using scraps of paper. For your handmade card making projects, try this idea using remnants of scrapbook paper, ribbon and other embellishments sitting in your supplies box. I had lots of black and white scraps of pattern paper so I used blue as an accent color. The sentiment was created on a computer and then punched out using a scallop circle punch. The hearts were also created using a punch. The rest of the card is embellished with ribbon and a button but use whatever you have laying around that makes sense for the card.
